Axe

The Axe is the sign of justice — and, for that very reason, the most misunderstood of the Gypsy calendar. At first glance it seems violent; in tradition, it is exactly the opposite. The axe is the tool that divides precisely: it splits the firewood into equal parts, so that nobody in the caravan is colder than anyone else.
