Candles

Candles is the only Gypsy sign whose name comes in the plural — and that says everything. There are always two flames, never one. Tradition ties this period to light that divides itself in order to illuminate more: those born under Candles are rarely just one person, and almost never have just one interest.

It is the sign of conversation, curiosity and exchange. Children of Candles learn fast, can talk to anyone and manage to be interested in ten subjects at once — sometimes within the same sentence. Their challenge is the divided flame — two candles burn faster, and Candles who light everything at once go out early. Choosing one subject and following it to the end is the lesson.

In love, they need dialogue before anything else: the mind is their main affective zone, and boredom is the only possible ending. At work, they shine in communication, teaching, journalism, marketing, writing and any craft where words are tools. The elders say that on a dark night on the road, one always looked for someone of Candles — not for the candle, but for the conversation.
