Hat

The Hat is the sign of the traveller — which, in the Gypsy calendar, is almost a beautiful redundancy. It is the object taken on the road, protecting from sun and rain, removed as a sign of respect and thrown in the air as a sign of celebration. Freedom, here, has the shape of a wide brim.

Those born under the Hat collect experiences the way others collect objects: journeys, philosophies, cultures, tales to tell.
